Reading, writing, and discussions are guided by thematic questions and student choice. The curriculum over the three years of middle school explores texts with diverse representations of gender, culture, race, and socio-economic perspectives.
8th Grade: Each year, students undertake a 5-6 page research project on a topic of their choice, considered through the lens of social justice. Students use Noodletools to track sources, make notecards, generate a works cited page, and organize their writing.
